Feel wonder and excited about the title i have seen in google's official research blog. 4 scientists from google "Oriol Vinyals, Alexander Toshev, Samy Bengio, and Dumitru Erhan" Have proposed the paper which seems to be interesting for tech enthusiasts.
“Two pizzas sitting on top of a stove top oven”
“A group of people shopping at an outdoor market”
“Best seats in the house”
What about those statements. If your images can be described as above means its simply a description nothing to get wonder in that. But if those descriptions are automatically generated means you will get wonder. Yes that the cool research going around in image processing. Which will give more means to image based searches. "A picture is worth a thousand words" is actually the fact that our brain can remember pictures more easily than words. So this can be done a lot for visually impared people.
Object detection , classification , are improving day by day with new research works. so the scope is become more wider than we expect.
The image given above is a test image from google research. The above image has been processed and automatically captioned “Two pizzas sitting on top of a stove top oven”
The idea was a mixture of computer vision and natural language processing. and it came from recent advances in machine translation between languages. A recurent nueral network transforms a french statement to vector representatioin to generate a target sentence in german. here the change was in rnn. instead of that input words with a deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) trained to classify objects in images.
The following are few test cases from google research.
Like google image based search lets hope that this will be fruitful.
